I know it's rough out there, but a periodic reminder that I'm on the job hunt. If you hire me, you'll get someone with over a decade of experience (see more below). In addition to journalism jobs, I'm also very open to roles in copywriting, comms, and/or teaching writing. Email in bio. Many thanks!

Spotted: Devil Wears Prada 2 filming at the Museum of Natural History. A bunch of extras wearing Runway shirts — looks like some Runway event for “spring florals.” (Groundbreaking!) Also, the codename for the production is Cerulean, of course. 😂

Race, ethnicity, & nationality are complicated, especially for people with complex family histories shaped by multiple generations of immigration. For more on that, might I recommend a gorgeous movie called Mississippi Masala, directed by his mom. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/n...

Did not intend to hit exactly 1000 words in one go. Considering this an auspicious start.

Love you, Hacks writers, but there is no Heinz Ketchup Museum in Pittsburgh. (There's the Heinz History Center, but it's not really the same thing.)

I wrote a long goodbye email because I’ve earned that right. Debated whether to get spicy and say the part below, but I am a big believer in calling things what they are.

Please support journalists. You’ll miss journalism when it’s gone.

Modified this meme, since somehow it is still January.

Ooh, Parasite is getting an re-release in Imax for the 5th (!) anniversary of its Oscar wins. 🍑

Not working today (mercifully), but many of my dear @huffpost.com colleagues are working tirelessly to tell it like it is and not resort to, as Orwell says, “sheer cloudy vagueness.” You’ll miss us when we’re gone. www.huffpost.com/entry/donald...

Due to the ongoing fires in LA, the Oscar nominations have been rescheduled again, to Thursday, Jan. 23, per an Academy announcement just now. They've also canceled the annual nominees luncheon & are rescheduling the scientific/tech awards. The ceremony is still scheduled for March 2.

A fun bit I couldn't fit into the story: I asked if, post-Starstruck, she has any other TV in the works. Short answer is nothing immediate, but she does want to be cast on Grey's Anatomy. Here's me informing her I still begrudgingly watch it in its 21st (!) season.

Highlight of my year, honestly (pro tip for any fellow Caro heads: if you order his books from the NY Historical Society, he comes in to sign them. I felt bad ordering a signed copy because it would take him away from his writing, but the gift shop told me he loves coming in to sign his books.)

Friends of mine are hosting a holiday party with mulled wine, and suggested bringing “your favorite, coziest mug.” Is this cozy, y/n? (Guarantee I will be the most insufferable person there.)

Dug up what is likely my first byline: a review of Up in the Air, published in the March 2010 issue of Teen Ink magazine (lol). A bit hyperbolic at times, but not bad, tbh. Also, an ad for some newfangled Twitter thing.
