Her truth:
Death is a necessary evil. Without death, everyone goes mad. All meaning vanishes. Death might need to exist. That mechanical body might need the ABILITY TO DIE.
(Fearing expulsion from the academy, she rarely voices opinions on this matter.)

Lets create a mechanical body that resembles our own in form and characteristics, yet is alive—one with strong pain-pleasure sensitivity and the ability to create things itself—and transfer ourselves into it!

In Altered Carbon, we have Stacks. Stacks store human consciousness and enable body transfer. Death becomes a commodity: you're gone if you can't afford a new body. Can afford one, and you can escape the end as long as finances allow.

For context, the quoted "ad" is for "using ai to 'bring your loved one to life' after they die. This isn't a new techbro concept - we've seen ai photo restoration before. However this is, in my opinion, on a deeper new level.

Tod uses this story to scare the internal mechanics team interns into traveling in pairs and logging where they're planning to go in the plant at the beginning of the work day.
