Apparently the truck they were loading dead bodies into in the scene where Zosia is introduced was a dairy truck…so I’d say you are on the right track! So frustrating to have to wait for the next episode to drop but also makes it fun to see what theories everyone comes up in the meantime!

I loved the scenes in One Battle After Another showing The Sensei and his network of community activists who were working quietly behind the scenes to “fight” for the revolution. Contrast that to the more explosive (both figuratively and literally) approach of the French 75.

Curious if you’ve seen The Running Man and what your thoughts are on the ending? It didn’t work for me precisely because it glossed over the importance of community in fighting the system, although there were threads of it there.

My local movie house was playing this for the 40th anniversary and rewatching it I noticed that the 1985 town theater had been converted to a church which is named on the marquis. I hadn’t noticed the anti-science intention of the clocktower lady but this all ties together!

Is there really no understanding there of what subtext is, specifically when it comes to exploring why the darkest evil often lies behind a beautiful facade? “Without Laura Palmer’s murder, Twin Peaks would just be a fetishized exploration of life in small-town America.”

If you thought the Gothic font choice was a head scratcher, I’d like to point you to the even more confusing background image on their Facebook page. Pretty sure they weren’t frying in chicken fat before, so why is the chicken being so vindictive? Also, what is it painting with - its own blood?

Just going to head off any “well, actually” replies and say, yes I do realize that having an asshole is somewhat of a prerequisite for using a bathroom in some cases but that’s not the same as “being” one.
