Conning neurodivergent people into working for The Bad Guys is not the kind of equity we’re asking for. Historically, we don’t fare well in fascist societies, and it’s in our interest to fight back, not fall in line.
Palantir's new neurodivergent fellowship is in fact bad because neurodivergent people participating in technofascism will not save us. Latest for @motherjones.com www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

I have a friend who is super into fitness who, years back, had done some videos about all of the many ways he is able to workout in an airport while waiting for a flight. It's not that hard. You don't need a designated workout area.
*internal screaming* I'm so fucking sick of these people. Just walk around the airport like a normal person if you need to stretch your legs my god.
Duffy: "My daughter pointed out a video from Dr. Paul Saladino where he was complaining that there are no pull up bars in airports, which prompted me to call Sec. Kennedy to give me Paul's number to start the conversation."

“You don't have to try every cookie on the holiday table,” wrote Mehmet Oz in an email to all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services employees.

we all got cowed into avoiding "virtue signaling" as if the public affirmation of socially agreed upon ethical principles was somehow cringey instead of a significant part of what a "society" even is. now all there's left is vice signaling, and it's reshaping society.

@handsoffnyc.bsky.social is training thousands of New Yorkers on how to protect their neighbors from ICE. Today, they are currently running two trainings in Brooklyn and the Bronx, both of which hit capacity because interest was so high.

This is the way, y’all—we protect each other, and we know it.

This does not mean those accommodations are unfair.

What it means is that there are probably a lot more people who deserve accommodations but aren't able to get them because their parents have not been able to take the time and money to get them diagnosed.

I keep thinking about LSAC data saying students with accommodations get higher scores.

The most obvious possibility to me is not "some students unfairly get accommodations"; it is, "people with wealth are more likely to get accommodations."

is it a good idea to

1) decide that a technology is militarily important,
2) deport as many people as you can who do it to your biggest rival for that technology,
and
3) also deport a bunch of other scientists who have nothing to do with it, but who now have a reason to be upset with you
Apparently every Chinese academic in any field of “interest” to the PLA is getting their visa rejected for, more or less, presumptively being a spy. My friend’s visa is denied because she studies “neuroscience.” What she actually studies is jaw pain - but ICE is flatly rejecting all appeals.
Just got the word that the Trump administration is throwing a brilliant medical researcher friend of mine out of the country because they’re Chinese. Insane and unreal. Literally doing research in the US to help the US

Trump has never once in his life extemporaneously used the phrase "western civilization." He was once asked about western liberalism and thought they were talking about California Democrats. One of the more blatant tells for a Miller-written screed.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

I have volumes of ugly tracts about how Jews, Germans, Finns, Hungarians, Poles, and "Papists" can't possibly acclimate to American life because they are hereditary degenerates.
What I always find fascinating about comments like this is that they have been made about literally every immigrant group throughout American history: Germans, Irish, Miller's Jewish ancestors, etc.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization
