It's a war crime(*) *AND* murder.

(*) Under the Geneva and Hague conventions, there are at least three war crimes: waging war without a proper declaration, killing civilians indiscriminately, killing "combatants" who are hors de combat.

Best part: "I ran out to tell my colleagues and the officials. After that, it was a real struggle. It was the day before the weekend, normally, we stop at 2 pm. We thought: 'This is not possible.'"

I mean, they're French, it really is nearly impossible for them to work past 2pm on a Friday. 😜

Execution without evidence or due process, don't forget that part!

'specially Uncle Clarence

He's so disgusting, and he and his crime family and cronies have stolen FAR more from us than the Minnesota embezzlements (and we're a lot more likely to get justice in Minnesota than from the trump mafia).

Unfortunately people can live for an awfully long time after they start falling asleep in public

Actually, it's a war crime *AND* murder.

It is a war crime to wage war without properly declaring war. It is a war crime to fire weapons of war upon civilians and people who are hors de combat, whether you have properly declared war or not. (This is stated quite clearly in the Geneva Conventions.)

No, I think if everybody who lives where you live refused to pay taxes, then pretty soon you wouldn't have any doctors, because doctors wouldn't want to live there. Look up the challenges that the reddest places in the south have in recruiting doctors & teachers, not to mention attracting companies

You only have access to those things *because everybody has been paying taxes to fund them.*

If you bought the fiction that the lottery was going to fully fund schools, that's on you! Obviously the plan was always to cut other state funding for the schools, leaving local communities on the hoook

Mike Johnson NEVER knows what's going on (yeah, right)

The return on your payment is living where nearly everyone is literate; kids are in school instead of on the streets or working in sweatshops; and you have access to doctors, scientists, teachers, journalists, business owners & others whose services you benefit from

People in your community being educated is absolutely a benefit that everybody should pay for, because it means we all live in a society with educated people who do things we like to have them doing.

Or being protected from crimes, or flying anywhere
December 2, 2025 at 4:31 PM
It's still a war **crime** -- in fact, waging war (as the trump administration is doing) without a proper declaration of war IS ITSELF a war crime. You don't get out of war crimes by saying "oh, we're not really at war." (But you're right, it's not a war.)
December 2, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Actually, it's multiple war crimes AND murder! Waging war without a proper declaration of war is a war crime; killing people indiscriminately (including, most likely, civilians) is a war crime; and killing people who are hors de combat is a war crime; plus the second two are also just plain murder.

Those who bought stuff probably paid 25% more, while lots of people bought way less -- or no -- stuff because they can't afford it
