My name is Maria, but it is pronounced Mariah which was the first trick my parents played on me.

This is my poem in the New Ohio Review. Its about victim blaming, gaslighting, being polite.
I will never allow Spotified Wrapped to tell me how many times I listened to the same five songs.

This literally means that if a trans person requires GnRH blockers for cancer treatment (i.e breast or prostate), they CANNOT get cancer treatment.

Insane. Absolutely insane - and deadly.
No matter what the politicians say, this is discrimination. Look at how the regulation is worded: This is not a ban on its use for a particular indication, it's a ban for a population.

#FolktaleWeek Day 3: Rain

This young blue frog did everything the opposite way his mom said. If she told him to go right, he would go left. If she said stay in, he would go out. (1/?)

#FolktaleWeek2025 Day 1: Night

There used to be no sun or moon in the sky, and the nights were darker and scarier. One of those nights, a tiger caught a woman who was walking home from the market by a lonely mountain path. She begged for her life, offering a rice cake from her basket. (1/?)

ICE just abducted a leading contender for the New York City mayorship for asking to see a warrant.

I need everyone to understand that they are not a law enforcement agency — they are Donald Trump’s secret police.

Dear Diary, today I tried to be *earth friendly* and buy a used mattress off fb marketplace but when it arrived it was moldy but I paid for it anyway because I wanted them to like me. In fact I also bought a boxspring I didn't ask for because they had already pulled it out.

Authoritarianism is weaponized abuse. It's meant to exhaust you, activate you, force you into a conservative position in which you don't fight and you ignore the day-to-day brutality and sacrifice people.

Where we're going, you have to ground, see it all as important and everyone as essential.
