Western media can and will be held accountable legally for manufacturing consent to commit genocide and torture Palestinians. But while we work on that, we must uphold our responsibility to fill the silence, reject the silence, fight back against the silence. TALK MORE ABOUT ZIONIST PRISONS.

What this means is that we have an URGENT responsibility to amplify these stories ourselves: we, the people. Tell the stories of Palestinian hostages to everyone who will listen. Make posters with their names and stories and paste them around your city. Say their names. Amplify Israel’s crimes.

One can’t truly have a healthy self-concept while aware that some portion of your income is being spent on slaughtering children. Human beings are inherently wired for living in harmony with one another. Under the surface of those who remain consciously ignorant, there is a subconscious distress.

All of this, actually, is and should be obvious to any well-studied mental health professional in the West. However, because Western psychology is built on stolen land, it cannot ultimately maintain ideological consistency until it acknowledges its own colonial foundations.

Entire schools of psychotherapeutic thought, for example, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) maintain that depression is a result of the distance between who one wants to be, and how one actually lives and behaves.

Any therapist worth their salt—if you ask them outside of the context of Palestinian suffering—will tell you that living out of alignment with one’s values creates cognitive and emotional distress.
