Pollster for labor
This is from a couple days ago. Not having this word in the Wordle dictionary is an affront to the people of Cincinnati and also the Shire.

29. But I drove through 3 more and passed through the airports in 2 additional cities. And one focus group facility just outside of Milwaukee.
How many y’all have visited? I’m up to 14

Well this seems like a fantastic plan.

Scoop: The databases powering DOGE.gov are insecure, and people outside the government have already pushed their own updates to the site to prove it:

Great reporting on how to understand tomorrow's jobs report from @bencasselman.bsky.social highlighting great insights from @wendyedelberg.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/02/06/b...
Friday’s Jobs Report Will Be Confusing. Here’s How to Make Sense of It.
The Labor Department’s January survey will include revisions making data for previous months look stronger in some cases and weaker in others.

I just reduced my screen time limits on Threads to 5 minutes and Facebook to 10 minutes. I’d rather do social in IMs to a few friends anyway.

“Oh, Jo, how could you? Your one beauty.” Is one of the most brutal and hilarious lines in literature. #littlewomen

Now that I have followers all of a sudden, reskeeting this. I’m not sure if this was an original joke or if I saw @aedwardslevy.bsky.social post it and subsequently forgot, then remembered the joke as though it was my own.

John Hughes is known as a master of teen dramadies, but he’s really the Shakespeare of travel nightmare movies.

I have, through a series of events, acquired a massive collection of bitters. Maybe three bottles of Angostura, in addition to many other flavors. Is there anyway to consume bitters by more than a few splashes at a time? I feel like the quantity I have never diminishes.

Gen X has the Violent Femmes “Add it Up” and Gen Z has “10 Things I Hate About You.” Did Millennials have a naughty counting song?

I was idly paging through LinkedIn and saw a promoted post about Dan Ariely. I figured, “I’ll bite,” and I checked the comments. Disappointingly, most of the top comments were cruel observations about his facial scarring - nothing about his academic misconduct accusations. People are trifling.

Me, at a bar for young people: I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want bottle service.

Also me, at a Tex-Mex restaurant: I would like the fajitas, please.

Not trying to be normie or American-centric here but

It’s Gettysburg.

Individual heroism and tactical brilliance. Hubris and betrayals among Lee’s commanders. Exposing Lee as the reckless fool he was. Saving the Union from ransoming Washington or Philadelphia to preserve slavery.
History nerds: what’s your favourite battle?

I’ll go first: Balaclava, because it has everything: insane (and sometimes successful) tactics, technological innovation, epic supply chain fuckups, pandemics, two (2) hero nurses… truly it never stops giving

I have seen the post about the steak and lobster.

If you find the original post at X, you will see the author explain that eating at the restaurant is not an option for his family.

That said, $125 is just not that high for a mid-premium meal delivered to your house.
