Infuriatingly, the Government clearly knows that the system is fucked because the new DV single rate exemption (if you’re partnered but your partner is abusing you, you can get single rate) is actually part of a broader discretionary single rate exemption authority that they don’t talk about

My agenda for Australian welfare is that all payments should be raised above the poverty line and the partner income test should be abolished for at least those pensions given on the basis of incapacity (AP and DSP)
