To wrap up my vacation days, I used some Boyz and a Nob that were surplus to requirements, plus the leftover bits from the Wrecka Krew kill team, to build a Tankbusta mob

Some arms feel pretty long in the old-fashioned Boyz, but I like it that way #kitbash #WAAAGH #warhammer40k #warhammercommunity
Five makeshift Tankbustas and a Boss Nob, built from Boyz miniatures in varied states of painting and unpainted spare parts A closer look at five minks, mostly unpainted except for Ork skin. Some of the arms were sloppily cut to fit the weapons, so I had to use quite a bit of Vallejo putty Another angle of the Boss Nob and the Tankbusta missing from the previouw picture. The latter is mostly painted, except for its two arms, which were swapped today.

And here's another one!
The two Mek Guns from the previous picture are flanking another kitbashed gun from a Field Ordnance Battery. This time, the battery has been built with a lascannon and Ork-ified by the addition of a pole and some Ork symbols, as well as the defacement of the Imperial Aquila. Both kitbashes remain unpainted, while the official Mek Gun is painted in purple. A side view of the new kitbash. The boss pole and some tactical rocks (25mm round bases and some yellow plastic) raise the battery to the height of the Ork Mek Gun, while the horns and an energy device atop the cannon make it look more Orky.

Not quite #guardtober ...now I'm finally converting some field ordnance batteries to Mek Guns

Alas, it seems I lost the spare parts for my original Mek Gun, so I'm having to improvise a bit

Side by side, an Ork Mek Gun and an Imperial Guard Field Ordnance Battery that has been taken over by some intrepid grots (from the Blood Bowl Black Orcs kit). The Ork-ified battery has an upside-down jaw from the Deff Dread kit as shielding, as well as a Deff Dread pauldron as sights. It is armed with rocket launchers that I will modify to make look more orky. The proud grots stand around their new gun. Because I want to run it as a bubblechukka, one of the rocket launchers is plugged to the battery from the laser Field Ordnance Battery

A few Meganobz and a Deff Dread from Warhammer 40k, plus a Big Mek in Mega Armour. Their main colour is purple, with details in bronze and some other colours.

Better late than never! Starting my #orktober with some before-work painting. That should account for their basic colouring.

Day 3 of summer vacations: played a WH40k Combat Patrol game against @renatavs.bsky.social

Her Necrons faced off against the Ottah Boyz, getting rid of my Deff Dread early on. However, a battle round 2 WAAAAGH gave me a sizeable point lead, after which she conceded
Initial setup: the Orks deployed on the left hand side of the photo, with a Deff Dread and a squad of 10 Boyz. Most of the Ork force started in reserves: another 10 Boyz, three Deffkoptas, and a Warboss in Mega Armour. On the right hand side, the Necrons deployed 10 Warriors (5 reapers and 5 flayers), a Canoptek Doomstalker, an Overlord with tachyon arrow, three Skorpekh Destroyers and three Canoptek Scarab Swarms. The game is played on a table with some MDF ruins and barricades from Kill Zone Octarius. All objectives are located in No Man's Land End of Battle Round 1. The Necrons advanced and killed the Deff Dread, while securing the two objectives closer to their deployment zone. The Orks have lost one Boy and the Deff Dread, to one lost warrior on the Necron side. However, the Orks Tellyported the Warboss and the other Boyz squad into the battlefield. Battle Round 2, end of the Orks turn. Having declared WAAAAGH, the Tellyported Boyz krumped the Necron Warriors, while the other squad managed to nuisance charge the Doomstalker. Orks control 3 objectives, and are leading by 13-0 at this point. Battle Round 2, end of Necron turn. The Skorpekh Destroyers charged the Boyz who were facing the Canoptek Doomstalker, killing most but not all of them. However, two of the Destroyers were lost to the other squad of Boyz on a Heroic Intervention. Meanwhile, the Scarab Swarms rush to capture a neglected objective that the Boyz had secured before. At this point, the score is 13-5. The Necrons player conceded at the beginning of Battle Round 3, as the Orks benefited from mission rules and secondary objectives to score another 23 points.
