As we honor Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate culture, resilience, and generations who have fought for a better world.

But honoring heritage also means confronting the truth: gun violence continues to devastate Hispanic and Latinx communities — stealing safety, joy, and futures every day.

An evening by the water. A morning in prayer.

These are moments to cherish — and yet in America, nowhere is safe from gunfire. Not restaurants, not churches, not schools, not our streets.

That is not freedom.

Minutes after news broke that Charlie Kirk had been shot, we learned of a shooting at a Colorado high school.

Another group of kids left to live with fear and trauma, because our so-called leaders would rather protect the gun lobby than protect the people they serve.

2025: Minnesota students walking out again — same reason, different shooting.

Different faces.
Different classrooms.
Same violence.

An entire generation treated as collateral to America’s gun culture.

We have learned the names of the children stolen in the Annunciation Catholic School shooting: Fletcher Merkel and Harper Moyski.

They should be alive. They should be laughing with their friends, safe in their pews, dreaming about the future. Instead, their families are planning funerals.

This is the reality of America’s gun crisis — kids traumatized at school while leaders cash checks from the gun lobby.

This is not normal, and it will keep happening until our leaders choose kids over guns.

Seven years later, kids are still being gunned down in schools.

Seven years later, leaders are still offering nothing but thoughts and prayers.

Today, little kids at Annunciation Catholic School were forced into a club that no child should ever join. It’s a fucked up club, and it’s growing because our so-called leaders refuse to act.

The Minneapolis shooter fired dozens of rounds through a window at Annunciation Catholic School today.

Metal detectors wouldn’t have stopped him. “School safety” theater will never stop a man with an assault rifle and a country flooded with guns.

Pam Bondi is a liar. That’s not news to us. She stood with Parkland families, promised to act, and then turned her back on every word.

She used our grief to climb the political ladder — now it’s our responsibility to hold her accountable.
