This one has been in my to read pile for like a year and a half. I finally got around to it and absolutely loved it. This is what Mass Effect fans THINK Mass Effect is like. It has such a vibrant world, wonderful cast, and breezy style (1/2)

We are so fucking back. I like Impera more than most people, but I concede it's their worst album. This still doesn't come close to touching Meliora, but it's wall to wall 70s metal inspired goodness.

It's so crazy that the skeleton wizard book series I started reading in high school is 1) still going and 2) still pretty good! After how bloated and apocalyptic that second series was it felt so good to have a regular fuckin mystery again.

Finally got around to finishing the anime adaptation with my roommates. It has some pretty egregious pacing issues especially in the back half, but it really is so nice to have a One Piece anime that looks good again.

I wanted to check this one out after listening to Last Night at the Telegraph club. Regrettably this one is kind of a stinker. Unfocused, a bit meandering, with a real kind of paint by numbers romance plot. Then it just kind of...ends. Extremely mid gay fantasy book. Sad!

This is only the second Lynch movie I've watched, and the first I've seen in the theater. So much context for Twin Peaks S3 has been filled in for me. This movie contains the most menacing hallway ever put to film, and an all time Weird Guy.

Lesbian coming of age story set in mid 50's San Francisco in the peak of McCarthyism. I really enjoyed the two leads and the romantic buildup. Very moody, bittersweet, engaging melodrama. Kinda shocked this hasn't been turned into a streaming miniseries somewhere.

Sometimes you make a fantastic character action game with a great gimmick, charming characters, cool as fuck boss fights, and your reward is that your studio gets shut down. There are TWO boss fights set to Nine Inch Nails in this game!!

It was fine. Glimmers of the old Aardman charm poked through all the distracting CG vis-effects and backgrounds. Pretty great final chase, but something was just...missing.

The grand finale! This one goes in some really wild directions, cranks the Alien shit up all the way and breaks off the dial, but never loses sight of the personal stakes. I wasn't sure how they were gonna wrap this thing up, but I'm satisfied. Now I wanna give the show another try.

Time for the real cosmic horror to start baybee! This one's a slow burn compared to a lot of the other books, but its worth it. Uses its POVs really well, and takes every character in really interesting directions. I would kill for Teresa Duarte.

Getting into the Expanse Stuff that never got adapted. This book is a real breath of fresh air for the series. A tight, tense story is exactly what I needed after the massive scale of the last book. Also I can't remember a book series ever making a time jump this big between books.

Good sequel, introduces some great characters, widens the world quite a bit. That classic Jim Butcher horniness was mostly absent from the first book, so he made up for it by introducing a buff, busty, catgirl sky pirate who hunts dragons and wears tight leather. Thanks Jim.

Another one from the "why the hell didn't I finish this the first time I watched it" pile. It's really good. The script is dense but rewards close viewing, it has some great characters and kaiju design. An imaginative take on Godzilla that sadly won't get another season.

Feels more like a Part 2 of Nemesis Games than it's own thing. A bit overstuffed with POVs, and lacking some of the good character drama that made NG so enjoyable. Shout out to the Space Pirate Polycule tho

Slickly produced, wonderfully scripted, and horrendously tragic as always. There's so many kinds of evil in the world and the USA has has some kind of hand in like 90% of it.
