Starfish a middle grade book in poetic free verse is by Lisa Fipps and touched me. Having come from a now proudly fat family, who were less proudly chubby kids, I think more about the specifics of what they went through compared to other bullying. 4/5 stars even at age 33

Deja Ross Speaks to Freaks has colorful illustrations on what it's like to be be an outsider and the possibilities it brings. It a young adult book that brings monsters to life and out of the shadows and shows with a little kindness monsters can be admirable.

I read Ashley Herring Blake's, "The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James." I was exercising and thought about having been a queer teen with an illness. I thought the author really had a relatable middle age narration. Very good book. Written like a sand castle in the sky.
