In 1984, I came out of hospital after 2 months (pre-eclamptic toxemia, other complications & a premature birth), with a delicate newborn. Someone from church gave us a pot of soup. That was our Thanksgiving meal — and the 3 of us were very thankful for it, even though the baby abstained. 😊

This is what happened when I tried to do a stripped-down, easy version of Thanksgiving dinner. Lord have mercy. I can’t stand anymore; I can’t do repetitive motions like chopping. My arms, legs, shoulders & back all give out. Give me grace, Lord, to survive the morning’s cookery.

I’ve done a roast in the past. This year, we’re doing a small turkey tenderloin. (Yeah, turkey, but not the traditional kind.) I won’t eat any because I gave up meat about a decade ago, but my husband & a couple of my sons will.

I don’t do this exact thing with Marmite & potatoes, but close. My Marmite-hating husband loves Marmite-roasted potatoes. So very good.
