"RNA is the love language of the genome."
Science person, RNA fan, lab account over at areslab.bsky.social
Interested in RNAs that must adopt two or more distinct structures to function. Also interested in mechanisms of intron gain during genome evolution.

Watson's name is one of many famous scientist names displayed in the atrium of our building. I hung this sweatshirt overtop of it in 2020 during that painful summer. So far no one has complained (at least not to me). ✊

.@yale.edu putting this declaration at the end of the science stories they publish in Yale News is First Rate! 💪💪💪👏

All published stories about any discovery supported by the (former) University-Federal Government collaboration should have the equivalent. See this @ucscscicomm.bsky.social 👀?

Gotta say as a kid I was excited that I would be alive in 1986 to see Halley's comet, thinking it would look like the Bayeux Tapestry but nope. Big nothing.
Luckily in 1996 two great comets came around, Hyakutake (C/1996 B2) and Hale-Bopp (C/1995 O1).

It's DNA Day 🧬 but I'm repping RNA 💉 with undergrad researcher Kelly. Kelly was in an NHGRI-supported program at the UCSC Genomics Institute until Wednesday when the grant was terminated. 🤷‍♂️ Her stipend was rescinded mid-quarter by the NIH. We found her some funding 💪 and she cannot be stopped. 🚀

Anyone else notice that the eRA Commons "Status" button that you need to click to check if your grant is canceled looks like a broken heart?
