Re. AI-related investment: do all the people spending hundreds of billions think there will be demand for what this investment is buying, or are they each building in anticipation of winning a winner-take-all game, leaving all the losers with sunk costs and overcapacity?

lol the people obsessed with elites controlling how they thing are in the thrall of elites controlling how they think.
Bannon and Epstein talk about hanging with a woman, who I think is called "Miro". Perhaps Mariel Colón Miró, Epstein's lawyer? They also discuss in late March 2019 how they planned to make China the next boogieman

It feels like politics has fallen into something like the postwar cycle of dumb Keynesianism: all stimulus all the time. But there’s going to come a time when consequences are very very real, and I don’t know that populations have the knowledge, virtue, and fortitude to fix it.

We won the Civil War because we drowned the feudalists in blood and lead. The sharp end of a strong liberal state is very sharp indeed.

The Epstein case against Trump is as if everyone is looking at a 500 piece puzzle with 2 pieces missing and pretending they can't make out the picture for certain.

Damn this is so heartening to see from a Pope.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV will share a meal this Sunday with Alessia Nobile and four fellow transgender Catholic activists, during the Vatican’s Jubilee of the Poor — marking the most significant public encounter shared between a pope and the trans community.

It is wild to watch the pile on of Elizabeth Spiers. Her original naïveté about why people would be skeptical of the NYT was weak, but people in her replies clearly don’t know who she is or what she does.

they can all live in harmony together under a big diverse tent if they restore regional party identities and stop the circular firing squad on nationalized media <3

Ah, at long last we can finally admit that Piss Christ was just facile provocation
This is what male solidarity & collective action to oppress women looks like:

Artist Andres Serrano--successful, but nowhere near the same class as Thiel & other billionaires in the files--stating that he'll vote for Trump, despite his politics, out of *sympathy* with T's sexual assaults on women.

I’m fine conceding that a bunch of nebulously incriminating Epstein statements do not a story make, but in that case neither does the Biden Parkinson’s nonsense, or literally any component of the various Clinton/Wikileaks pseudo-scandals, or tons of other right-wing stuff the paper has laundered

Your paper is going after Ms Rachel, accusing her of being funded by Hamas, because of an unfounded claim for which it admits they have no evidence. That’s more of a news story than “I have pictures of the Republican nominee for President with teenage girls in bikinis?” bffr

republicans, 2016: "all democrats are pedophiles"

republicans: 2025: "well, if you think about it, how can we even define 'pedophile'..."

republicans, 2026 (projected): "of course he's a pedophile - does that trigger you 🤣???"

What’s most disgusting about this is the total preciousness, total coolness and distance in her language when talking to a dead-eyed pedophile. If you read enough academic and MFA lit, you know this voice tooooo well.
Interesting email here from Elisa New, Harvard professor and wife to Larry Summers, to Epstein, reflecting on Lolita.

"...it's about a man whose life is stamped forever by his impression of a young girl."

AOC dunking on Larry Summers has made my day. Wonder if she got his little “talk” when she came to DC, too?
You just know that “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” bit would have done NUMBERS in this little clique
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Damn he’s actually pretty good at this. Bravo. Gay excellence.
"There is a lot more." Rep. Garcia shares the DOJ is hoarding files from federal Epstein investigations. "Photographs, possibly videos, they have information we need to actually bring justice to the survivors and to implicate the wealthy and powerful men that abused and raped children and women."

Don’t understand why this is going around? She actually doesn’t ow him very well at all.
Hannity: When did you notice Biden’s cognitive decline?

Miller: I think it was through all of the times that Trump has fallen asleep in public and talked about magnets getting wet.

Now imagine every university, every artist, every library, every writer and academic and journalist having to beg billionaires for money.

That’s what the billionaires want and this is why we must stop them.

Summers is the perfect example of credentialism. He was wrong about most of the major questions of the 90s/00s (Russian liberalization, financial regulation, global warming), but because he was SecTreasury and Chief Economist of the World Bank over 25 years ago, we're fucking stuck with him FOREVER.
