I keep saying that astronomy is the Dark Souls of the sciences, in that there is a whole lot of backstory you have to infer happened a long time ago from the scattered remains that linger, illuminated only by the last fading ember of heat remaining from the creation of the universe
one of the things our brains are not very good at internalizing is just how much of outer space is empty except for the odd particle

an object going from Earth to the outer solar system on a random trajectory through the plane of the ecliptic has a billion to one chance of hitting an asteroid
It's extremely common for stars to brush into the Oort, it's estimated to happen every 100,000 years or so.

A star getting as close as Scholz's: every 9 million years or so.

The odds of one actually hitting the sun: around zero, even when Andromeda collides with the Milky Way in 4.5 billion years
