Today on my bird-feeder: Red Bishops (the males' plumage change almost complete); Masked Weavers, Crested Barbet; Glossy Starling; Cape Sparrows; Redheaded Finch... I woke up to the Crested Barbet's trill, they'll be raising young in my garden again this year!

Observing from afar, I keep an eye on the Covid mortality rates. The US is consistently ahead by THOUSANDS & has been for ages, since way back in Biden's admin. A professor of public health suggested vaccine hesitancy as one contributing factor. What will the latest moves mean for US health?

Press Freedom Index, blue is free, yellow & orange not so great, red no no no - hey, look at Europe, same colour as my country (where "very bad things" are happening, according to the Pawpaw President) - then look at the US!
