More than a dozen protesters from a coalition of climate action groups in Manchester gathered outside Marsh offices in Belvedere on Booth Street. Marsh acts as broker insurance for a number of large fossil fuel projects including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

Thank you to Leah Munokoh for an excellent talk about the impact of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) on communities in Uganda. Stopping EACOP isn't just about climate change, it is a human rights issue.
July 4, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Yesterday electronic billboards across Manchester displayed messages about how important our right to protest is, and how this is under threat.
July 4, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Leah Munokoh, an activist from Africa, in Manchester and will be giving a free talk tomorrow evening. We have been opposing pipelines like EACOP due to their contribution to climate change, but it's also important to conside the human impact on some of the poorest people in the Global South.
July 1, 2025 at 2:48 PM
Hey all, please come to learn about Big Crude Oil, and how Leah & communities in East Africa are resisting.

We spent last weekend in Castlefields, talking to the constituents of Lucy Powell MP. They want her to give parliament time to ratify the Global Oceans Treaty, the best chance we have of saving our seas. Send her your own message here:

We're outside the British Insurance Brokers Association annual conference in Manchester, calling on the industry to stop covering fossil fuel projects before the climate crisis wipes out their business model.
