Covid surges shouldn't surprise people, at this point. They happen twice a year: One in the summer, and one in the winter. '25 is shaping up like '23, with a late (northern hemisphere) summer surge that is probably going to blur into the winter surge.

This technology is in a phase where it's currently provoking a lot of exuberant irrationality. Some of that will turn around, as the shiny new toy loses its luster, and heads get clearer. But we unfortunately find ourselves in an era of society backing over the severe tire damage strip repeatedly.
