Incredibly grateful for the opportunity to present some of my PhD work yesterday at #AUSoMicS2025

My supervisor thinks I’m obsessed with Alba proteins and to be honest, he’s probably not wrong. It was a joy to talk about them uninterrupted for 15-minutes 😂

Our recent study found human antibodies developed against proteins in the saliva of malaria transmitting mosquitoes can serve as markers to estimate how often people are bitten. Read why this is important, particularly today on World Malaria Day: www.burnet.edu.au/knowledge-an...

It’s #WorldMalariaDay
The good news: 2.2 billion #malaria cases and 12.7 million deaths have been averted since 2000.
The bad news: after years of steady declines, progress has stalled.

Felt bad for the three males just sitting in there with nothing, so I put in some females from another pond down the road for them to court

I had calculated that they would hatchbon Wed/Thurs but they've started pipping a couple days early, perhaps due to the ungodly hot weather?
