Retired from a lifetime of writing anything and everything, all signed by someone else. Now I write only in my own voice. Public libraries, hungry kids, movies and music, healthcare and objective truth matter. I live in a scam nation, but not forever.
Oh, that’s why they call him Rent Boy

I would love some confidence we’ll still have a functioning democracy a year from now, but I see no evidence of it. I see brown shirts pulling people out of cars and disappearing them, millions of Americans living in media bubbles controlled by oligarchs, and a wholly corrupted Congress and SCOTUS.

Why Visa and not Mastercard?
December 6, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Maybe because a global propaganda effort, with FoxNews at its center, has been attacking the party’s patriotism and trustworthiness for decades, with the assistance of the oligarch-owned media networks who also fund the Republican Party? Yes, Democrats, ask where you have gone wrong.

They waited till a Friday end of day to make the announcement, when the fewest people will see it - indicative of the cowardice of this twisted group of kid killers.

I won the DAR Award for Citizenship in 8th grade at my junior high school. Funny to think that award has more credibility than the FIFA Peace Prize.

If SCOTUS overturns birthright citizenship, in the Constitution in words anyone can understand, they cede any credibility as honest judges and certify to the world that the US has no trustworthy justice system and no rule of law. Our word will mean nothing to any nation or to our own citizens.

But how can this be true? It wasn’t reported on Fox! Oh, and they didn’t say the DC pipe bomber was a Trumper who thought the 2020 election was rigged. But they sure hammered hard on him being black!

Wrecked TCM brand on streaming. Drove CNN and live news off the network. Screwed up NHL, NCAA, pretty much all live sports offerings. Tried to toss away valuable HBO brand. And now he will take a huge payout for selling off his network. Better lucky than smart, I guess.

That means we, the taxpayers of America, are paying $15 billion a week in interest payments, the vast majority of it to China, which in turn uses it for the infrastructure, healthcare and economic development we can’t afford here. Although we can afford trillion dollar tax cuts for billionaires.

Schumer and Williams are locked into leadership because Wall Street owns New York, so New York owns Congressional Democrats. The need for leadership change isn’t just about inspiration or expanding the party; it’s the same fight as the battle to get the wealthy’s chokehold off our national politics.

Much of this wealth is based on value calculated on fantasy. Musk’s car company is collapsing, his space company a flop. Meta hasn’t produced anything new in a decade. Bezos owns a huge share of retail, but has decimated the state of US buying power, wages and small biz. Is this a paper Gilded Age?

Highly recommend a two-night event: Watch Breathless on night one, and Nouvelle Vague the following night. Linklater’s film is huge fun with the details from Breathless live in your memory. I wish he’d make a sequel about Weekend.

Everybody has one of those. I love Gatsby; read it six times. But Infinite Jest? Hated it.

Is his district that dumb? I read it took him about 20 years to finish college. They finally just got bored looking at him, I guess. But what’s his district’s excuse?

They’re programmed to swing for the fences, so it’s all K’s or homers. And they’re all bulked up now from the gym (haha) and most can’t run and stretch out a line drive. Plus data-driven outfield defensive placement is smart, sure, but it’s made the game so boring.
