@unraveledpress.com wrote this yesterday after one of their journalists got popped in the face by a pepper ball.

tonight, federal agents detained the other journalist while he was doing his job.
It is not in any way "worse" when cops assault journalists instead of protesters.

It's all the same violence; it's all wrong and horrific.

What's notable is the intentionality behind what happened today, esp when paired with DHS accusing anyone recording their activities of intimidating *them.*

Hi, just a note—

The local ICE/ERO agent directing his team to fire at reporters' faces in Chicago this morning has been threatening press since we showed up at immigration court in June. His agents shot us both at close range last week, too. None of this started today!

woke up in awe that the Obama CBA campaign won *another* major victory last night in Chicago City Council for parts of South Shore & Woodlawn. it was a 4 year fight to this milestone. this 10+ year campaign has taught me so much about long-term, disciplined organizing. it works. and it continues.

ICE advanced again, started firing at photographers/press intentionally. Took a nasty lick to the face, unsure if pepper ball or rubber bullet.

Another volley of pepper balls. One agent ran up along this fence to the right firing at protesters (and journalists) from closer range.

From yesterday and today: it certainly appears ICE in Chicago are wearing the Meta AI Ray-Ban glasses.
