The way I prefer to do it is to use something like Ghost for the CMS, but statically generate the site when I publish new content, so the CMS is mostly there for the editing experience, while the content is served statically.

Been a while since I heard Jekyll, but from my previous research, it looked promising. I have used hugo in the past; the website or websites are still up and running, and the results were amazing, and I am a huge fan of it, or was.

I just happen to like the writing and content management experience Ghost CMS gives me. Unlike most people, I have tried Markdown and I am not the biggest fan of it.
