On May 16, James Hajost will talk about how he built the box, Principal Percussionist Jack Barry will demonestrate and he might pull out some of the other unique instruments we have on stage this year. Then, you'll get a chance to try it!

The opening of the "Prelude to Die Meistersinger" from our final concert of MF 37.

Wagner first contemplated an opera about the Mastersingers of Nuremburg in 1845 but it wasn't until a trip to Venice in 1861 where he 'determined at once on the composition."

1 of the most Romantic works ever written. 2 young people in love confronting a secret. Music of intense passion, drama, and radiant beauty.

The premiere was met with some unfavorable reaction. However, Schoenberg’s work impressed Mahler, who was in the audience that night.

MahlerFest commissioned the "Little Piece for Brass Quintet" from David LeRoy Biller, a multi-instrumentalist based in central Texas. Biller has written, performed, & recorded in a huge variety of styles and genres, including; country, jazz, blues, rock, soul, and classical.
