Yeah. Will seemingly be paying NI on a good chunk of my pension contrb'ns. Wife will be bounced into a higher bracket if there's a limit.

We'll be fine.

But the former owner of my wife's business has a pension vehicle that owns the building the business operates out of.

He's *definitely* fine.

I really hate the framing in the article. I'll get this tax, I'll pay it & am fine to pay more.

But.

To frame it as for "rich people" or even "high income" is a bit off. The £2k/y limit is puny. It'll also catch a lot of e.g junior lectures on 35k paying 6.1% (USS minimum) in. Not that sensible.

It will never stop bewildering me that these people don't see that social media is the new "mainstream media" they railed against previously.

The platforms have gone way beyond dumb bulletin boards. They are publishers and drive the content and engagement. They need to be regulated as publishers.

True. It's a wonder we get anything done! (Or no wonder we don't)

Just charge for motorway use. Super simple. Cameras at junctions. Doesn't get start & end of journey. No dystopian totalitarian nightmares anywhere else that does it.

That last sentence describes 60-80% of Reform's vote. The remaining 20-40% often have contradictory expectations.

Yeah the pubs are the main & first premeses with flags on around me. Although my town hasn't been affected by lamp post flags, as it's had red white & blue bunting up from VE day / early spring anyway that wasn't removed. So we've been spared the worst by council inefficiency!
