‘in the decade since 2015, the world’s “elite”, the top 1%, have increased their hordes of hoarded wealth by US$33.9 trillion. That’s trillion with a T, a number so gargantuan it is all but meaningless. Oxfam paints it in more coherent terms: enough money to “end global poverty 22 times over”.
