A place for Notts County fans to share memories and stories of great games and moments from the past.
That certainly rings a bell. Shocking if true.

This video has a slow-motion replay of Stant’s header in the last minute. How it was ruled out, I’ll never know. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq6X...

😂
I remember walking to the ground thinking I could hear the home fans singing loudly but It was the ‘Hucknall Magpies’ in fine voice. My other memory of getting to the ground was thinking I had arrived then having to walk what seemed like another half a mile around the allotments behind the stand.

I celebrated for ages before realising it had been ruled out. I couldn’t work out why. It was a massive ‘We wuz robbed’ moment. I believe Les Bradd got in a fair bit of trouble for his reaction towards the ref after the game. I’ve still got a ‘Les Bradd is innocent’ badge somewhere!

I think they kicked the ball out as their player was ‘injured’ but we didn’t throw it back to them & scored. I remember going to the away game a few months later. Their fans had posters with photos of Stal, Ramage & Liburd on it with the word ‘Cheats’ across the top! It was a very feisty atmosphere!

Was that the game where we were 3-0 up after about 12 minutes?

Such tragic news. Thoughts are with Daniel and the rest of his family at this terribly sad time. RIP Joshua

Brilliant stuff! According to Les, Sammy Chapman’s dad didn’t take it quite so well trying to give Les grief after the game. It’s amazing to note that we went unbeaten against Forest at the City Ground from 1954 to 1977, winning 6 and drawing 1.

Did you sneak out again the next night?

That would have capped off an incredible night for you.

I was at the Burnley game. Definitely a case of after the Lord Mayor’s show!

I totally agree. He was a man on a mission that night.

We could never handle big crowds back in those days.

And it would be great to have a decent cup run again soon. It’s been far too long since we played one of the big boys.

And I think Ossie was sacked the next day!
