And one more thing, let’s not kid ourselves. This is on the Dems and the Dems alone. They made the choice to surrender when they had all the leverage. They didn’t surrender despite the strategy working, they surrendered because the strategy was working better than they anticipated.

I’m an optimist in that I think we as a people will overcome this eventually, but in the short and medium term we are truly fucked. It also means that a lot of people will suffer and die needlessly before any sort of justice or relief arises.
