If the HPV vaccine had been available 20 years earlier, my beloved Grace might still be alive.

Get vaccinated.
“Healthcare personnel often do not realize that in the U.S., HPV-related mortality far surpasses the mortality from tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis & meningococcal disease combined. Each year, about 4,000 deaths are the result of cervical cancer; most are preventable through pre-exposure vaccination”
Technically Speaking: Why HPV Vaccination Before Age 11 Years Is a Good Idea
Dr. Sean O’Leary, Chair of AAP’s COID, explains why AAP and CDC recommendations about HPV vaccine differ.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries signaled today that Democrats are unlikely to pursue impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth over alleged follow-up strikes against boats in the Caribbean.
Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
"Republicans will never allow articles of impeachment to be brought to the floor," he said.

I want us to hang on to the fact that the people who were murdered were just civilians out in boats, most likely fishermen, who had never even heard the sketchy conclusions of American officials for which they were executed, much less had a chance to defend themselves.
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

Vice signaling.

What kind of person is so proud of immoral, criminal, inhumane actions that they broadcast their fantasy it was even worse?

And what type of person likes watching that?

Even when killing is necessary for security—and this wasn't close—it should be serious, forced by circumstances.

This person who openly advocates war crimes, who lobbied for pardons for war criminals, and repeatedly disdains the laws and ethics of war, the one we confirmed as Secretary of Defense, turns out to have done war crimes. Shocking!

(But hey, if they're finally coming around, better late than never.)

the transphobia on display here is vile and also the point, but you can’t convince me it’s missing the forest to note that the university has accepted the premise that student assignments are protected by the first amendment in the sense of being protected from a bad grade
Oklahoma University has placed a grad student instructor on admin leave for failing a psychology paper on gender for citing *the Bible* as a source of empirical evidence.

In response, OU has placed on instructor on admin leave citing, get this, the FIRST AMENDMENT.

Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.
A chapter in Hegseth’s book is literally titled “More Lethality, Less Lawyers.”

It’s almost as if there were signs!

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.
