China was the largest export market for American farmers in 2024. They bought 27 metric tons of soybeans last year. They stopped buying in 2025 when Trump started his trade war. These are simple, obvious, basic facts. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Leavitt: "President Trump convinced President Xi to continue purchasing again American soybeans, which is something China wasn't doing under the last administration because they had no respect for President Biden or the country at the time."

#JerseyCity street sweeping isn't running until 1pm.

I called the Parking Authority to find out and it was the first thing the woman said when she picked up the phone.

If only we had invented mass communication methods...

The revealed preferences of the richest man in human history suggest that the most valuable thing in the universe is indeed getting likes on your online poasts
There aren’t many material luxuries that compare to having one’s grievances endlessly validated. The richest man in the world could have yachts and planes and every material thing conceivable, and he has opted instead to build a social universe where his grievances are always justified

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

I'm not sure it's in the self interest of America's tech bro billionaires to suggest that we bring back public executions to punish the most destructive people in our society.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

@rianjohnson.bsky.social Saw #WakeUpDeadMan in the Angelika in NYC. I liked it better than Glass Onion, which I also liked! Got taken in by several of the red herrings and so didn't know the solution until we got there. 😂

Fuck you of you think trans rights should be sacrificed "for the good of democracy".

The anti democracy machine is the anti-trans machine. Get that through your skulls.

America understand this! With all the representatives we are removing from office next year @gregcasar.bsky.social is one we are keeping!

When we remove Hakeem Jeffries from office, I will nominate Greg to become Speaker of the House. We can no longer play by the old rules. He has the perspective!
I just filed for re-election in Texas’s 37th district in Austin. We’re going to fight to ban gerrymandering nationwide, stop Trump’s corruption, and make Congress work for workers, not just the billionaires.

Interesting article which converts RCV votes to Approval. I'm not sure that "if you ranked anyone at all you approved of them" is a true thing. But even with that large assumption, progressives kicked ass.
"NYC Democrats showed support for a broader coalition of progressive candidates. RCV’s structure eliminated strong contenders like Lander early, preventing the true top two (Mamdani and Lander) from competing head-to-head."

The Alzheimer's drug Leqembi:

- Is administered through an infusion (for example, through the hand)
- Can cause swelling, bleeding, or fluid leakage in the brain, requiring regular MRIs
- Can cause tiredness

Curious. 🤔

Also online. Lots of orgs have meeting on Zoom which is important for access reasons.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

This is my big soap box. We gave the presidency too much power with the PATRIOT Act, extrajudicial drone strikes, indefinite detention and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. Trump is just using executive authority Congress gave to the presidency after 9/11 to maximum effect.
Congress, in my opinion has ceded too much of its authority to the Executive Branch in the last nearly quarter of a century. What the administration has been doing is simply part the Post 9/11 legacy. It’s got to stop. I say this as a GWOT era veteran.
Credit to Rand Paul. He hated extrajudicial drone strike killings under Obama and he HATES them under Trump where Congress has given no authorization.

He shouldn’t just be pushed out as the House Democrats’ leader; he needs to be primaried out of his seat entirely. Just a complete waste of a deep blue seat.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."
