Each of them caught couple of hares, and further downstream Hans managed to snipe a wild duck before it could fly off. It was when they were returning back to the cabin that Hans started to complain about his legs aching, declaring that Henry could figure out lunch whilst he rested. Even with an eye roll towards Hans’ retreating form, Henry couldn’t help but feel a sense of warmth deep within his breastbone. It had been a long time since the two had had a chance to spend some quality time together, and Henry hadn’t realised how much he’d longed for Hans’ companionship until now. He couldn’t help but think back to their argument and subsequent splitting of ways; at that time he’d been far too focused on getting money, clothing, and food to even think about the longing in his chest when his nights were strangely quiet. That time now felt so long ago, even though it was only a few weeks back."
