I don’t think you could point to a specific line of my game and say, “This part! This is the part influenced by Paul!” but I do hope I’ve done at least a little justice to the influence I credit.

If you’re a designer, this book provides insight on cultivating a specific experience and giving players BOTH good supports and breathing room. If you’re a player, there is so much wisdom on getting the most out of games, and finding the right ones for you.

This is a very comforting perspective to hear. I definitely think the pros outweigh the cons for me but of course I don’t imagine it’ll be 100% smooth all the time, and I’m glad to know your experience and that it mostly feels solid.

Do I still feel like mayyybe I should have come up with a studio name and just made THAT my itch username, to avoid changes like this? Possibly. But y'know what... that would have been a whole other decision-making process that I wasn't able to load simultaneously.

Also if you're the person who took maggie as your itch handle years ago and only made one comment ever... if you're not using that hit me up I waaaaaant it.

It's going to take me a little time to adjust every game page, and some really old URLs will probably break until I can get everything up to speed. (Itch only lets you keep one URL redirect, from your most recent prior username!) But it's nice to have finally made a decision.

The reasons I wanted privacy still exist, but after sitting with it for MONTHS, I want to be able to bring all the aspects of myself together in one platform. (theater work, game design, fiction writing, library expertise, networking)

Oh I'm so glad!! It's in-progress, but coming along nicely. (It's expanded in scope but still feels true to the spirit of the system!) I'll definitely show you when I get the finished draft ready to throw into the world. :)

At least one of my cozy fantasy ttrpgs (maggiemahoney.itch.io/just-passing...) will be at PAX Unplugged, but I can't make the trip this year. (Any chance the exciting reasons will apply to PAX East next spring too? 😅 I don't have to take a plane for that one!)
