Anaheim is part of the metropolitan statistical area of Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim. Economically and socially connected, but very different. If someone lives in OC, they don’t say they live in LA and vice versa.

Anaheim isn’t in LA county, it’s in Orange County. So no, it isn’t a suburb of LA.
