If you happened to see the preview image I posted earlier this week, that is Brownie the Elf. The mascot of the Cleveland Browns football team.

This #folklorefriday let’s talk about Brownies. Not the delicious chocolate treat, nor the junior girl scouts, but the beings from English and Scottish folklore. Brownies are similar to fairies and elves. They are only visible when they choose to be or can be seen by those with second sight.

If you're in Columbus, Ohio this Sunday (11/16), Sew to Speak is having their Winter Makers Market.

It's a great way to support small artist and crafters, while getting unique gifts for your loved ones.

The spirit we’ll be talking about for this #folklorefriday is from German folklore. While many spirits are elven or tiny people, the Puk is a two-foot-long dragon. Some depictions of the Puk have wings and others have a fiery tail. All have a serpentine body and the standard four legs.

Our next goodie is the history of the Ouija Board. It was invented in 1892 by Elija J. Bond. The name comes from the French word Oui and the German word Ja, which both are the word “yes” in their respective languages. The Ouija board has also been referred to as the spirit board or talking board.

It’s #folklorefriday and the last day of October. So, let’s wrap up the month with a fun little grab bag. Let’s start with an odd superstition. If you wear you clothes inside out, you risk being beat up.

Watched The Raven (1963) last night with a nibbling who didn't want to Trick or Treat.

The magician's duel between Price & Karloff had them cackling.

It also took Mom a hot minute to recognize a young Jack Nicholson.

We’re going on the road for today’s #folklorefriday to cover some highway ghosts. There are thousands of ghosts that are claimed to roam the U.S. alone, let alone the world. You could write several books on just these ghosts alone.

6 years ago today, Little Sis text me & said their co-workers found a kitten abandoned in a Burger King bag outside the office. That no one there could take them & did I want a kitten.

Happy Adoption Day to my wonderful, sweet, silly Tara❣️
