@mrzhyde.bsky.social and I had our beloved Mollie cross the rainbow bridge today. Never thought I’d be a dog person, but this beautiful clown stole my heart. I will forever be grateful that you helped break the ice when I met your mother. I will always love both of you.

It probably helps that I already had 4 years of high school German, a semester of college German, and am an organist, so I encounter German professionally often enough, but I am kinda proud of this.

Wisconsin weather may have prevented us from making it to my parents’ for thanksgiving this year, but still thankful for good bread. #sourdough

I think this is the most truth I’ve ever seen from Mapquest.
Blinkers exist. Use them. This isn’t improv.

This is too true. Mary and Joseph, being of middle-eastern descent, would definitely be detained and deported by ICE. And probably deported to Columbia or somewhere else they have no ties.

Took a drive in rural Dickinson county, Michigan (in the U.P.) last night to see the beautiful #northernlights display. Photos taken with an iPhone 15.

Pretty sure the latter is why the senior cashier at the grocery store asked me about my mask the other day. I don’t want to catch *anything* that’s going around, whether that’s covid or just a cold. After my wife and I had the flu together last year for the first time since Covid, not worth it.
I don’t often get asked but usually when I do it’s people asking if I’m sick (out of concern for me, I think).

Sometimes when people ask and I say I’m just being careful they say something like “I wanted to check if you knew something I didn’t!” and I always think no, pretty sure you know it too……

When I worked in Health IT, we had a company presentation on end-of-life care, like when to stop life support. The same conversations are soon going to be necessary at the beginning of life. It's harder than you think to determine when it's a miracle and when it's unnecessary burden. a-le.xyz/artinc
This machine could keep a baby alive outside the womb. How will the world decide to use it?
For parents who have buried infants born too soon, a device like the AquaWomb is a miracle in waiting – and an impossible choice

What’s missing here is that they *aren’t* offering a modified price to SNAP customers, because there are no SNAP customers right now. You’re offering a discount to customers who happen to be in possession of a particular worthless plastic coupon.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

We’re going to have a 2nd table with bags of pantry staples available on trick-or-treat night in our tiny, northern Wisconsin town. It’s not that we’re doing great, but we’re doing well enough we can help others.

Saw this tonight and, while I am not a pilot, this seems like one of those things that might be a little *too* true:

The three most useless things to a pilot are the altitude above you, runway behind you, and a tenth of a second ago.
