i'm teaching found poems to one of my students and please see this gem i wrote today from Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations"

Found poem from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations that reads:

GREAT EXPECTATIONS
one remarkable piece of "Now"
is the hue and cry of people coming
to say they claimed to know for certain
what I knew of my own "here."
Having "Now" exactly as myself
was nothing with everybody else about.

THE MUSEUM OF WALLS
Sometimes I was a paper boat stuck in a tree.
Sometimes a bird without a powerline.
Most days I was an antique store without walls.
The people who love me say it's normal to feel this way.
But I remember normal!
The drumming of rain on fat leaves.
The light disheveled after
it traveled through prisms.
I remember the color red
The way a bee would sometimes land on my hand and I would hold perfectly still and that stillness, somehow, mattered.
I'm not alone in thinking
removing splinters from skin is a kind of diminishing, that there's tragedy in rehoming what fits us so perfectly.
But what do I know of people? So few of them walk through snowstorms with upturned mouths.
Yesterday I went to the Museum of Walls.
There were ones with layers of paint like excisions of bedrock.
A mystery to go from black to periwinkle to merlot to canary.
Most people were in front of a piece called Torn Down.
There was nothing there, and yet nobody moved
Nothing was stopping them.

combined two of my favorite things: Wicked and Palindromes.

Poem that reads:
What Is It?
For The First Time, I Feel

I should be
how Wicked
instructs me: exactly
one shade of blush, envy. However, inside, she
is a tornado gone perfectly.
Assumption, I say,
demands you judge
the book by its cover but still, I
read too much to be convinced by
aphorism. Secretly, I want to be
wicked, to sing As Long As You’re Mine and survive on
the lapels of a lover. Is that
too much? Forget the silver shoes and
leave home as the person of
their last expectation? The desire mustered to
rewrite old habits will die quicker than
gravity. Popular or not, I still push and
rewrite. Old habits will die quicker then.

today's palindrome is about self love

Isn't it
herculean to love some-
one who cannot look back? It's
in many myths about pivotal change. For those, that is the thrill - the pair of wings the temptation of a sun. Maybe the glow of a face looks at itself like it is nothing but holy. For me, there is a glass building nearby, where I could catch, happily, a glimpse of my red coat, my yellow hat, my eyes smiling, lips mimicking a duck. I used to think of love as someone seeing me
like I see my reflection: flawed, a mix full of internal shame and profuse gratitude, dream intangible as I pull myself from sleep. I leave tons weighing in me, unseen by the common eye and definitely not wanted. Yet I have so much love for the girl I was, especially when she was definitely not wanted yet. Flawed, a mix full of love. As someone seeing me,

I am writing
like hurry
is the only word I can stomach. There’s little fun
in rushing towards a line drawn in sand again
and again. But what other ways can you describe it, editing? That pull,
the letters, words, sentences begging to be rehashed, reorganized, over-
analyzed like a horse beaten in its grave? Todd asks
me if I was Joan Of Arc because I chose this poem to be
read aloud after it’s only been alive three hours. That’s
how I choose defining making - the confidence to try and
look at the product as a labor built of love.

You want to be me
for the worst reasons. I know that the moon cries honey because I stole her from them and the bears. Wonder why I changed my name, moved away from everyone who called me a friend? When I take everything
from the world, they don't believe I should be allowed
to show them my face. It's why they hate kings, pharaohs, second comings claiming god in the backseat of their pickup truck (so fun). Try picking yourself up by your bootstraps! Isn't it easy to do? Look at me,
see what I got on all on my own? I found it easy to do. Look at me picking myself up by your bootstraps! Isn't
