Not once in my life has there been a US candidate that aligned with even half of my opinions, yet I've dutifully avoided letting perfect be the enemy of good for over 30 years of voting.
If we never demand better we will never get it.

I see endless posts excoriating legacy media and institutional actors for staying on Twitter. They don't fully migrate because bluesky is viewed as too much of an echo chamber. It will never be a viable mainstream competitor so long as it only houses an insular slice of the body politic.
This site would actually be better if it had more voices from across the political spectrum, and efforts to push out right wing accounts are only entrenching Twitter/X's dominant position in the political discourse.

I watched Lake Mungo, largely due to lauditory comments about it from Mike Flanagan (@flanaganfilms.bsky.social )and HOLY FUCK I've never seen a movie that so lived up to the acclaim.
It messed me up the way watching Vagabond did but in the supernatural realm instead of the intensely corporeal.
