It sounds a bit like a Shanghainese dish called 八寶辣醬 (eight treasure spicy sauce, which doesn’t make sense, but then again hot dog doesn’t either). They might have substituted things like the string beans and chicken for edamame and pork, but otherwise seems to track. Lmk if this sounds right.

It certainly is wonderful, but @theatlantic.com lost me and my subscription when it came for Biden. I hope it soon recovers its journalistic soul and intellectual integrity.
