I think people can tell when there's a labor of love behind something you enjoyed versus something that was just for the algorithm too. Knowing someone took the time to comment on the thing you loved doing will always mean more.

I'm legitimately shocked whenever I get a fb notification these days because I never use it for anything aside from the marketplace and occasional event coordination. And also because I'm always like, didn't I turn this off? And then it turns out that no, fb added more useless shit.

I wish I could like this a thousand times. The first thing someone said to me when I joined this community and mentioned wanting to write scripts was to write what I liked and what I thought was hot. Chasing trends and what others do is overrated anyway.
