Making art that make me happy <3
Pinned
I've spent the last year working on a zine about many of the ways that Generative AI is harming not just artists but all of us. I have the pdf available for free on my website if you'd like to read any of it. 💙

“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

Yeah, it's quite the paradox that the people who understand AI aren't impressed by it. A real head scratcher.
Why Understanding AI Doesn’t Necessarily Lead People to Embrace It
New research has uncovered a paradoxical relationship between AI literacy and receptivity: Individuals with lower AI literacy are more likely to embrace AI, despite perceiving it as less capable and m...

This is extraordinary: "emissions by data centres needed to train and deliver AI services are estimated at around 3 per cent of the global total, close to those created by the aviation industry."
Using big LLMs for basic queries is 'like turning on stadium floodlights to look for your keys' - this is good on the AI environmental questions.
We still don’t know how much energy AI consumes
Companies must give us the chance to understand the environmental impact of the tech we use

I 100% would have used ChatGPT for homework when I was in school, because homework sucked ass. However, if I hadn't been forced to bullshit a lot of essays 15 minutes before class I wouldn't have learned that I enjoy writing. The moral is to destroy both ChatGPT and homework.

I made this drawing of my mum looking after a rescue possum for an art show but I like it so much I think I'll just give it to her for Mother's Day instead. 💕

More proof that AI is a complete joke: I had to do an AI personality assessment for an application and it said that I love change and spontaneity, bitch I'm autistic.

One bright side to being forced to live in an AI slop tornado is now I see my artistic mistakes as incredibly endearing. The human machine of my body made that weird line. My worst day of drawing is completely untouchably better than anything AI will ever produce until the heat death of the universe

There's a lot going on, but we should not let this slip under the radar—Google and OpenAI are cynically seizing on the Trump admin's hawkish, US-first AI policy instincts to make a play at gutting artists' copyright protections once and for all.

OpenAI and Google's dark new campaign to dismantle artists' protections
OpenAI and Google have cozied up to Trump's imperialist approach to AI for a shot at tearing down artists' copyright protections.
