I like trains
Lowkey the D ticket has broken a lot of mixed long distance and regional express Takt because of the price difference between them

The only people that would put up portable barriers in front of a train so everyone has to board at the same spot

The scaffolding is coming down

Right now’ they’re installing a very modern signaling system and redid the station so you see very clean concrete ties and the cables as well as the yellow things which will be the connection to the in cab signals for the train

You still see them in Europe but new wooden ties aren’t a thing so they’re fading away

(Nice typo lol) and pensions should not regularly rise above inflation that’s how you bankrupt yourself as a country

this is a very funny way to lay out the page

And finally we have stockholm. With the worst website I have ever seen. they barely deign to translate anything and finding how much a fare is is an ordeal, and things like maps and journey planning are only possible in swedish. It recieved an overall, 0.83/5.

Barcelona would be #3 behind berlin, it is not a very pretty website but it is incredibly functional and everything is easy to use and find.

here are the detailed scores.

and our worst website belongs to PiK in Warsaw, which lost all of its point in the journey planner for having ads. otherwise the website is just not very nice to navigate and ticketing info is very confusing.

Our penultimate metro is TCL in Lyon which lost a ton of points for hiding english behind an unlabeled button (this appears to be fixed upon opening it again for my screenshot, if it was rated with working english it would be 6, behind budapest.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
In 8 we have madrid metro, which has 0 non metro information and has some bad translations and hard to read pages.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
In spot 7 we have PiD in prague. its an ok website, but it is missing bus info and many things are in czech only
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
In spot number 6 is where TfL would be if it didnt have ads. Its overall a pretty middling website and it relies on google translate built in to translate, which is liable to failures.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Next is BKK out in Budapest, a decent website, but the english one is tourist focused and hides info and lacks disruption info. As well it has our first 20mb map file, which is a big knock against them.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Next we are back to germany with #4 with MVG in Munich.

A very nice and beautiful website but it lost a lot of points for hard to find maps and denglish.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
In third we hop over on the Direct ICE to Paris and RATP!

A good website, but it lost points for some untranslated french information and a mildly confusing single ticktet page
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
in the second spot we have BVG in Berlin. a very nice website, but the route planner is a little clunky and there is some Denglish
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
The best metro website in Europe belongs to Wiener Linien with an average of 4.9/5. The only points lost were for this ticket screen.
November 10, 2025 at 8:42 PM
more electrification in BW. the lake Constance ring line is getting double tracked and electrified sometime
November 10, 2025 at 5:14 PM
I don’t the case of the German who is disappointed in the TGV. Tourists are not dependent on the frequency of trains and are willing to plan a day around them in a way residents are not
November 10, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Cup holders and little trash bins on every mainline train in Germany is one of the best ideas they’ve ever had
