Naaah. Too big. 36-inches by 24hinches was too cylindrical (should be twice as long as it is wide).
Switching to metric ..and maths. The circumference of my old ones is about 80-90cm (about 32 to 36 inches) so let's try 80cm (L) X 40cm (W).
More mosquitoes than millimetres in this project right now!

Year-on-Year.
A visual overview of the monthly sizes of #flu detections in Australia, highlighting the peaks over time and adding in roughly which flu types and subtypes/strains dominated.
Also highlights the higher baseline since the pandemic started, IMO, reflecting better capacity in our labs.

A breakdown of #flu detections by male/female & age group.
🤒Highlights the weight of influenza detections among children, in terms of crude numbers, especially young and male
A second bump occurs among parents/travellers/workers, involving more females, a trend that continues throughout life.

Annual totals.
2025 is highlighted with a pink dot indicating its total is still being updated.
🥇2025🥇 is the biggest year on record, in terms of lab detections of #flu -infected people (without defining severity). These *are* sick people getting tested.

Expanded version of the last graph, both in the number of years & in its horizontal stretching.
#AusFlu2025 peaked in July, but has declined slowly, meaning there's been *lots* of #flu around for a long time.
Sept-2025 was the 2nd biggest Sept since 2017, and Oct-2025 was the biggest Oct on record
