they decide what the story is! there's books about that mcsweeney gobshite and that wasn't a problem! it's entirely within the press' gift how sets of facts are framed. makes me so mad how they wash their hands of this. "this story just bubbled up by itself, what do you expect us to do?"

i remember being in a seminar about US Presidentialism with a bunch of Americans pre-Trump, and the wide-eyed awe they held the "checks and balances" of Congress and the Judiciary and other institutions in was amazing. They believed this stuff! It had all been figured out!
