Just saw it now back to back.

Moore's law has been used more broadly when there is the doubling of performance every 24 months. In Genomics the cost of sequencing dropped by a similar rate. Demonstrating a tech doubles in performance every 2 years is a useful metric whether it is referred to as Moore's law or not.
