We picked up the new Central Eastside passport, and were apparently the first people to get a stamp at Bauman’s on Oak

Seattle architects: how do you get midrise wood apartments permitted on streets that don't meet the aerial access requirements of Appendix D of the Seattle Fire Code? I see an exception for Type I/II construction, but I'm sure I've seen five-over-ones on tight streets in Capitol Hill or Belltown.

Trying to imagine how confused I would have been in 2000 if someone had told me that 25 years later that Róisín Murphy, JK Rowling and Graham Lineham would all be known for being extremely transphobic

If this measure passed, could PPB even fill the positions it would fund? For as long as I’ve been paying attention, they’ve struggled to hire, train and keep officers fast enough to keep up with retirements. www.wweek.com/news/city/20...
Ballot Initiative Will Seek to Reroute 25% of Climate Tax Revenues to Hiring Police

Well I just learned from a very mean immigration officer that I was meant to log in and update my global entry account to reflect that I got a new passport… last year.

Anyway, heads up in case you also didn’t know that!

If you care about tree conservation, you should be a passionate supporter of eliminating parking mandates

(also...that is a cute, affordable triplex. Portland's various housing reforms continue to bring the goods)
Parking was one of the more controversial aspects to Portland's Residential Infill Project.

This newly built triplex at SE 16th & Morrison is a good example of how eliminating parking requirements allowed a mature tree to be saved. www.redfin.com/OR/Portland/...

The 2020's will be the first decade since MAX opened without a new line opening

We used to build MAX lines and now we’re debating whether we can afford paint for bus lanes bikeportland.org/2025/11/07/t...
TriMet says full bus lanes on 82nd are up to project partners
Here's why our transit agency is opting for less transit.

I’ve always been skeptical about these services that help you manage subscriptions, until I got an email today saying that the price of my subscription to the Register Guard was going up to $19.99/month… which is how I learned I had a subscription to the Register Guard.

I have SEARCHED AND SEARCHED for the local tv coverage of when Madonna landed at Inverness Airport for her wedding to Guy Ritchie, and was greeted by a bagpiper named Spud playing a rendition of “Like a Virgin”
Please share YouTube links to the most regionally specific representations of where and when you grew up. Like… local sandwich shop commercials. Footage of amateur theater productions. Hyper regional news stories. I wanna see it all.
