I’ll go on a slight tangent, I’m reading a translation of the Mabinogion by Sioned Davies which I know caused a massive revival of the tales within it, so it deserves a huge shout out.

Writing day today! Still having a massive EDS flare-up so got my rather fab sloth hot water bottle (present from my kids), cashmere fingerless gloves (present from my best friend) and large cups of tea on the go. Bins for bird watching as well.
Looking forward to a day of just writing 🖤

Paperwork’s all there, detained under MHA, Section 2.” The guy gave Crowley a scathing look and turned to go. He paused, turned around, and looked at Crowley again and said, “People like you are a drain on society. Sort your fucking life out and stop making it my problem. I’m a police officer. Not your nanny.” He stalked off through the double doors. Crowley spat in the direction of the man’s slightly wavering, retreating back, and shouted “You’re not even a real police officer!” “Crowley!” he knew Jackie was shouting at him, knew he was making things worse for himself, but didn’t give a fuck.

Wanted to write this morning but Dave, the cat, had other ideas. We ended up compromising. He’s now occasionally tapping me on the shoulder to remind me of his presence. Combine that with 2 kids reminding me it’s half term & customers asking if I’m painting their orders…heeeelp! 😭

Went for a family walk, which is actually quite an achievement for me currently as I’m in the middle of an EDS flare up, and saw this gorgeous fungus. They were glowing, like beacons! Fungus ID book says it’s the Scarlet Cup (Sarcoscypha coccinea)

Son brought this home from school yesterday, their library has received extra funding & they’ve received new books, including new @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com ones they didn’t have before. I’ve pinched it to read over the weekend. I’m v happy son picked it up as he’s normally a v reluctant reader.

My kids were given this book by Molly Oldfield for Christmas 2021. One of my favourite facts is @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com’s Christmas Eve fact about Mrs Christmas being a softie. I read my daughter a fact every night if I can, it’s always great when it’s from someone I like & admire.
