Just got the Nagoya NA701 (genuine) for the Baofeng UV-5R Mini. Will try it out later to see the difference in receive signal.
Interesting that it’s a £19 aerial (including delivery) for a £20 radio!
More suitable than the usual NA771 as it is only around 150mm in length.

Weather can’t make its mind up today. Little bit of rain in between sunshine, but still damp, so avoided my usual route down the railway line.
Not keen on sticking to main/busy side roads but the route was relatively dry. Not been out on the bike for a while, so better than nothing!

Hmmm, saw this on FB and must say I am not impressed.
Implying somebody is stupid because they don’t have the clairvoyant skills to determine somebody’s invisible illness does not help the cause.
My disability is invisible, but I don’t assume people are stupid for not guessing!

Today’s cycling frustration was a large group of “hikers” who seemed reluctant to get out of the way. Not sure why it is necessary to take up the full width of the path.
Had I been coming the other way (uphill) this would have been quite awkward.
I had to maintain ramming speed for them to move! 🤓

New radio arrived this morning, bought primarily for the bike.
The Yaesu FT-25 is quite a compact radio to begin with, but it is a bit heavy. The UV-5R Mini is quite a lot more compact.
