In Germany, I developed a slight obsession with political stickers – and especially the unhinged pro-Israel stickers from the German left's creepy philosemitic neocons, the "anti-Germans" (the most German Germans). For @thediasporist.bsky.social, I wrote up some of the wildest examples

I loved Duolingo and used it for years. It helped me. I quit immediately when they announced that and haven’t looked back. I hope they can listen to the market, go back to human labor, and regain my trust.
Duolingo announced it was going “AI-first” just over six months ago. Since then its stock is down 64%.

Again: the Purpose of LLM- type "AI" bullshit engines is not to tell you the truth or to lie to you, but to tell you something you are statistically determined to be more likely to accept, irrespective of facts— which makes them perfect for accelerating dis- & misinformation & persuasive propaganda…
AI dialogues shifted political support by 2 to 3 points in trials, eclipsing standard ads. Roughly one-third of this effect persisted for a month. However, models optimized for persuasion proved more factually error-prone.

AI chatbots can persuade voters to change their minds
Conversations with AI can sway people’s political views. Concerningly, a chatbot’s facts are not always accurate, especially when it supports right-wing positions.

Great short thread on the National Security Strategy.
I am probably naive, but it reads like there is logic behind the NSD document. It might not be a coherent and well-thought-out one. Yet, it is simple and accessible: i) the US has the privilege to use force (of different sorts) to protect its interests,

A weakness for conservatives is that, if you let one look 500 years into the future, they would invariably consider themselves to have failed. Bc no matter what anybody does, the irresistible weight of history will make the world unrecognizable. It is only looking back that their story makes sense.

I think we haven't paid enough attention to the way that intensifying working class stratification follows directly from the laws of value, from the basic principles of capitalism. The old socialist utopias were often founded on a belief that uniformity would rule, but there's a dialectic of 1/
We too often look at prices when talking about affordability & not enough at wages. As Harold Meyerson explains, had the bottom 90% earned the same share of national income they did in 1975, by 2023 they would have made an additional $79 trillion!

For the Israeli government this is merely a lull until the genocide can be resumed with full strength, with the aim of mass ethnic cleansing.
