No food, aid, or fuel have entered Gaza since March 2.

Community kitchens have closed. Children are sick, thirsty, and starving.

Now Netanyahu’s government wants to occupy Gaza and shut down the existing aid distribution system run by the UN and its humanitarian partners.

Arms embargo now.

Nog eens in de pen gekropen voor @mondiaalnieuws.bsky.social! Over de stopzetting van USAID en de gevolgen voor de wetenschap en wereldwijde volksgezondheid. Een beslissing met enorme impact, waar veel te weinig aandacht voor is.
Soms neemt een regering een beslissing die niet alleen kortzichtig, maar ronduit gevaarlijk is. De beslissing van de Trump-administratie om de financiering van #USAID terug te trekken, is er zo één. Dat schrijft VUB-onderzoekster Marie Alice Mosuse.

The DHS Program’s future is uncertain as USAID funding is suspended. This threatens vital data on health systems, disease prevention, and access to care in 90+ countries. Without it, evidence-based policies and interventions are at risk. Urgent action is needed.

Waarom blijven de geboortecijfers wereldwijd dalen, ondanks subsidies en premies van de overheden? Omdat de keuze voor (meer) kinderen vooral gebaat is bij meer waardering voor de gezinnen, meent Marie Alice Mosuse.
